Earth's surface temperature is likely to rise at least 1.5°C by 2040, and without drastic measures for reducing CO2 and GHG emissions, the world’s surface temperature will increase by more than 1.5°C within this century compared to 1850-19001 or before the industrial revolution. Effects of climate change are already evident worldwide, such as sea level rise, reduced farmland, floods, droughts and extreme weather, which frequently and severely occur and affect food security. Therefore, CPF, a leading listed integrated agro-industrial and food business, is committed to its responsibility to contribute to mitigating climate change, as well as adapting and taking proactive measures to accommodate short-term and long-term changes to ensure sustainability of the world's food production systems.
