Corrections Department and CPF launched occupational training program to make Pork Shop entrepreneurs.

Corrections Department and Charoen Pokphand Pcl (CPF) launched Occupational training program for Pork Shop business. The initiation phase has been started in 4 Bangkok Metropolitan prisons to help the convicts to become entrepreneurs after their release.

Corrections Department Chief Kobkiat Kasivivat said it is the department’s mission to help inmates re-integrate to society. One of the key tasks is to provide occupational training with a policy called “One man, One Skill” which mean that every convict must learn at least one occupational skill.

In this year, the department aims at offering variety of classes to the inmates. A collaboration with CPF will help them learn on entrepreneurial skills such as management, accounting and marketing which are crucial for running business.

“We would like to thank CPF for all the supports and hope that this initiation will help the convict to become a Pork shop entrepreneur who fit in the society.” The chief officer said.

80 inmates from 4 prison in Bangkok and nearby area will join the first batch. The inmates will be trained by CPF employees and Bureau of Rehabilitation and get a first-hand experience from working in CP Pork shop in the prison.

CPF’s Vice president Prapoj Choakpichitchai said the company is delight to be a part of this project. The program be used to promote food safety standard within the community.

“We hope that the sharing experience will help the convicts to generate incomes for themselves and their family.” He added
