






Charoern Pokphand Foods (CP Foods) supports local fishermen in Chalae, Songkhla Province, to raise “Stingless Bee”, generating extra income annd improve living standard of local communities.
Since 2014,Chalae communities, Department of Marine and Coastal, NGOs and CP Foods have been working together under “Grow-Share-Protect” project to preserve mangrove forest in Songkhla, which is crucial area for ecosystem the southern. It is also the main source of foods and wealth for the surrounding fishermen community.
Moreover, the mangrove is a natural habitat for stingless bees, which are environmentally—important small insects acting as the pollinators for plants to bear fruits.
Besides its benefits to the ecosystem, the bees also generate finical benefits to the communities.
CP Foods funded local stingless bee’s farm, which is currently run by 8 local families. Stingless bee’s products, such as stingless bee' honey and soap, can generate extra income of 60,000 baht a year.
The company is planning to develop a learning center to help the locals gain extra income and ensure sustainable forest.
“Grow-Share-Protect Mangrove Forestation” project is one of the company key CSR program under the “3 pillars: “Food Security”, “Self-Sufficiency Society”, and “Balance of Nature”. Between 2014 – 2018, the project has restored 2,388 rai of forest nationwide.
