CPF lends a helping hand to community ensuring safety society against COVID-19 crisis

April 22, 2020 -- Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) has strongly encouraged communities surrounding its manufacturing plants and farms to achieve safety society through “CPF’s Food from the Heart Against COVID-19” as part of the company’s social responsibility practices to come out of the virus outbreak.

All CPF’s manufacturing plants and farms nationwide altogether have stepped forward on the same direction by taking care of community and people around those operations. Important activities have been implemented including providing food, drinking water, alcohol gel, surgical mask, and necessity tools to support local officials and village health volunteers. This is drawn to support smooth operation and health protection to stop wider spreading of the COVID-19

CPF’s operations have continuously helped support communities, for instance Trat shrimp hatchery farm in collaboration with Khlong Yai Subdistrict Administration Office and the Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital set up a training course to provide knowledge on COVID-19 and teach them to produce face mask. Hat Yai Feed Mill also held a similar training course for its employees, business partners and contractors.

Lamphun Feed Mill together with its business partner Chanomporn Farm in Nakhon Pathom jointly donated 5,000 eggs to Yannawa Temple for supporting the temple’s almshouse to cook food menus for people.

Ratchaburi Feed Mill provided infrared thermometers, fabric masks, sanitizers, and rice to village health volunteers to support health screenings in Donkrabueang Subdistrict where more than 4,000 people are living.

Moreover, many operations such as Nakhon Ratchasima’s chicken processing plant and farms, Nong Khae Feed Mill and Khon Kaen Feed Mill, Had Yai Livestock Feed Mill, have provided food, drinking water, fresh eggs and essential goods to frontline officers, volunteers and people in need.

Latest, the company has joined hands with 1st Army Region and Klongtoei District Office to prepare cooked food menus and drinking water to low-income people at Klongtoei community. Some 8,299 households covering 41,280 people had quality dishes for dinner. The company is also considering to expand this idea to other communities in Bangkok.

Since March 1, 2020, the company has initiated "CPF's Food from the Heart Against COVID-19" project focused on providing food supplies to doctor, nurse and medical staff who hardly worked in the state hospitals nationwide. So far, the project has delivered healthy foods to 105 state hospitals and 20,000 self-quarantine people. The project in the 2nd phase has expanded to those medical staff’s families with a total registered number of 18,000 households.

CPF are also invited those who interested in distributed medical equipment and other necessities to hospitals through the company’s logistic network, please contact the support number at 083-989-0010.
