CP’s Raising Layer for Student's Lunch” project targets to reach out 1,000 rural schools by 2025

CP Group joins hands with Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) and Charoen Pokphand for Rural Lives’ Development Foundation (C.P.)  has celebrated a success of Raising Layer for Student's Lunch” project that have been helping students in the rural areas of Thailand to fight malnutrition for more than 34 years. The joint CSR project has a grand plan to reach 1,000 schools nationwide within 2025.

 

Mr. Jhomkitti  Sirikul, Senior Vice President - Sustainability Development : Public Sector and Corporate Relations at Charoen Pokphand Group, said that the project has been operated following  Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s initiative on child development in rural areas, the Company supports schools in raising layers to promote good nutritional status and become a source of protein for people in remote areas,  enhancing good nutrition among  the children.

 

He added that the Company has been operating this project since 1989 by enhancing the knowledge of more than 180,000 students at the primary-school level from 905 schools participated. Moreover, it has become a learning center for over 12,000 teachers and 1,900 communities on Agro-business.


In term of food security, the project offers nutrient eggs at an affordable price to the community. This is in according to the principle of sufficiency economy.
