CP Foods Wins Two Gold Awards at Global CSR and ESG Awards 2026 for Net Zero Commitment and Community Development

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, or CP Foods, has received two Gold awards at the 18th Annual Global CSR & ESG Summit & Awards 2026, reflecting its continued commitment to driving sustainability under its CPF Towards Net Zero ambition and long-standing community development initiatives.

The company received the Best Environmental Excellence Award – Gold and the Best Community Programme Award – Gold, reaffirming its application of Sustainovation — the integration of technology, innovation and sustainability — to create tangible impact across its business operations and society.

The Best Environmental Excellence Award – Gold recognizes CP Foods’ commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company’s efforts cover deforestation-free sourcing of key raw materials, increased use of renewable energy including biomass, biogas and solar power, development of low-carbon products, sustainable packaging design, and the application of technology and AI to improve efficiency and reduce resource consumption. These initiatives support CP Foods’ ambition to become a model for a low-carbon food industry and contribute to the global effort to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C.

The Best Community Programme Award – Gold was awarded for two flagship social initiatives: the Agricultural Village Project and the Raising Layer for Student Lunch Project, both of which reflect CP Foods’ long-term commitment to strengthening communities and promoting food security.

The Agricultural Village Project builds on the Royal Initiative on land reform by transforming degraded land into sustainable livelihood areas and agricultural learning centers. The project covers three locations: Nong Wa Agricultural Village in Chachoengsao, launched in 1977; Kamphaeng Phet Agricultural Village, launched in 1979; and Santiraj Agricultural Village in Chonburi, launched in 2006. The project supports smallholder farmers with knowledge, funding, market access and modern production technology. Today, more than 140 farming households participate in the project, helping create careers, generate income and strengthen self-reliant local food systems.

Meanwhile, the Raising Layer for Student Lunch Project, launched in 1989, was established to help address malnutrition among students in remote and underserved areas by improving access to eggs as a high-quality protein source. CP Foods supports participating schools with chicken houses, equipment, pullets, animal feed and farm management knowledge. The project enables schools to produce fresh eggs for student lunches while turning poultry houses into practical learning spaces where students gain teamwork experience and vocational skills. To date, 1,018 schools have joined the project, benefiting more than 230,000 students and producing 27.6 million eggs per year. The initiative has helped increase students’ egg consumption by 77% and reduce malnutrition.

The Global CSR & ESG Summit & Awards recognizes organizations with outstanding achievements in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development across the region. This year’s event was held under the theme “AI, Energy & Transition: Resetting ESG in a New Economy.”
