Charoen Phokphand Foods PCL. (CPF) supports the Pracharat education scheme known as “CONNEXT ED project”, which aims to drive the systematic development of primary education in Thailand.
CPF presented certificates to 65 school partners who work together with the school to organize educational programs and develop career path that suitable for students and local demands.
Currently, the Company sponsored 195 schools in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum and Buriram province with a total of 50 million baht financial support.
Mr. Sukhawat Dansermsuk, Chief Executive Officer - Food Business and Co-President, said school partners will be an important part that drive the project. Moreover, the project will build ethical and talent people that will be valuable resource for developing Thailand in a long term.
“All school partners are the young, energetic and creative persons who will leverage the quality of Thai education to be equal to developed countries,” He said.
Mr. Anek Boonnoon, Chairman of CPF's CONNEXT ED project, said the project received positive feedback while some activities will be finished within the mid of 2018. The project’s key activities consist of agricultural activities, business lesson, educational lesson improvement project, teaching development course and improving quality of education using tools and from True’s Plook Punya project. School partners are responsible for oversees these projects.
Mr. Anek added that school partners are working closely with the schools to organize suitable lessons for students to set up programs, considering 3 aspects including improving quality of education, sustainability and local community’s participation.
CPF is among 12 CONNEXT ED founding members. The top managements of the 12 companies act as school sponsor that provides strategic consult and financial support to school partners.
Currently, 1,000 school partners participate in the project to serve 3,342 Pracharat schools nationwide. The project expects to reach out 7,424 schools within 2018.
12 CONNEXT ED founding members are Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc, Bangkok Bank Plc, Berli Jucker Plc, Central Group, Mitrphol Group, PTT Plc, Siam Commercial Bank Plc, SCG Plc, Thai Beverage Plc, Thai Union Group, CP All Plc and True Corporation Plc.
