CP Foods Expands “Raising Layer for Student’s Lunch” Program, Boosting Nutrition and Education for Rural Youth

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) has expanded its “Raising Layer for Student’s Lunch” Program, a flagship social initiative now in its 37th year, delivering better nutrition and agricultural education to children across Thailand.

At a ceremony in Nakhon Ratchasima, Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum officially handed over the program to 11 schools in Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, and Chaiyaphum. The initiative, run in partnership with the Charoen Pokphand Foundation for Rural Life Development under the CONNEXT ED program, equips schools with modern poultry houses to ensure students receive fresh eggs year-round.

So far, the program has reached 1,018 schools nationwide, benefiting more than 230,000 students and providing over 28 million eggs annually. Beyond food security, it offers hands-on training in poultry farming, teaching students responsibility, teamwork, and vocational skills that can support future livelihoods.

“This is more than just providing eggs—it is about transferring knowledge and technology, from IoT systems to modern farm management, turning schools into classrooms for life,” said Governor Chaiwat.

The program also launched the “EGG BUDDY” initiative, with 1,000 CP and CP Foods volunteers nationwide mentoring schools, guiding teachers and students, and ensuring project sustainability. At the event, 30 volunteers received official EGG BUDDY pins to recognize their contribution.

Students joined CP Kid Chef activities, led by Chef Wuttisak Wuttiamporn, Executive Chef at Tiger Grill. Using eggs from the program, students learned culinary creativity, food innovation, and professional kitchen skills, inspiring them to turn knowledge into future opportunities.

With nearly four decades of impact, the “Raising Layer for Student’s Lunch” Program reflects CP Foods’ long-standing commitment to social responsibility—ensuring children in rural areas have access to nutritious meals, modern agricultural learning, and brighter career paths.
