Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) becomes the world’s first poultry producer to be bestowed the product sustainability certificate, " ProSustain" at Germany’s Anuga 2015 trade fair.
Mr. Prasit Boonduangprasert, Executive Vice President, Domestic and International Trade Business, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF), stated that CPF, which is currently attending the international food & beverage Anuga 2015 trade forum held between October 10-14, 2015 in Cologne, Germany, will receive the ProSustain certificate for its poultry products from the world-class standard accreditation organization DNV-GL.
The accolade means CPF is the world’s first poultry producer who has continued to receive the Product Sustainability certificate since 2013. It also underlines the company’s mission that strives for sustainable food development. Besides, this certificate adds to its honor after the firm was recently selected by Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) to be part of its Emerging Markets Index.
“The ProSustain certificate that we get at Anuga 2015 underlines our food development and production processes that aim at quality and safety for our consumers throughout the entire production chain based mainly on social and environmental sustainability management,” Mr. Prasit said. This occasion is also aligning with the theme of “Lead the Way to Sustainability” at CPF’s booth that the firm proudly communicates with traders attending the trade fair. The idea is to showcase CPF’s world-class food production excellence that strives to produce safe and high-quality food on the basis of sustainable development and accountability throughout its production chain.
The Anuga 2015 is also the great platform for CPF to inform food & beverage traders and businesses from all over the world of its business philosophy, which is based on three pillars of “secured food, self-dependent society and lasting soil, water and forest.” By seriously and transparently pursuing these three pillars, CPF was selected by Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) in September to be part of the DJSI Emerging Markets Index, which consist of top emerging-market sustainability business leaders. The move helps fortifying our confidence to fulfill our mission as the “sustainable kitchen of the world.”
The Anuga 2015 forum is also a spot to let the world experience CPF’s status as the “kitchen of the world” thanks to the company’s ability to develop and produce a variety of foods that are not only premium-quality but also excellent in taste and rich in nutrition. Participants at the Anuga 2015 trade fair will have an opportunity to witness live cooking sessions using “CP” food products in a variety of western and oriental dishes by a Michelin Star chef.
Mr. Prasit said by participating at the Anuga 2015 food & beverage trade fair, which attracts 6,800 food & beverage developers and producers worldwide, CPF is able to witness progresses and spot new trends of the food’s industry and emerging needs of consumers around the world. “With this, we will be able to apply and enhance the quality of our CPF products to strengthen the world’s food security and to sustainably nurture our environment,” Mr. Prasit insisted.
