Corn: Prices Decline
Feed corn prices at animal feed mill silos decreased from 606 baht per picul to 603 baht per picul. Meanwhile, on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), as reported by InfoQuest on 11 March 2026, the May 2026 corn futures contract rose 8.00 cents (+1.77%), closing at USD 4.6025 per bushel. The increase was supported by investor expectations that U.S. farmers may reduce corn planting this spring due to rapidly rising fertilizer and fuel costs, partly driven by tensions affecting the Strait of Hormuz.
Outlook: Domestic corn prices are expected to remain stable.

Soybean Meal: Prices Increase
The price of soybean meal produced from imported soybeans increased from 14.95 baht/kg to 15.65 baht/kg. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has pushed global oil prices higher, leading to increased freight costs and driving up raw material prices significantly within a single week. Meanwhile, soybean harvesting in Brazil has reached approximately 50% completion, with production still expected to exceed levels seen in previous years.
According to InfoQuest, the May 2026 soybean futures contract on CBOT rose 12.25 cents (+1.02%), closing at USD 12.1400 per bushel. Rising crude oil prices have boosted demand for biofuels, which in turn supports soybean prices, as soybean oil is a key feedstock for biofuel production—similar to corn used in ethanol production.
Outlook: Imported soybean prices are expected to trend upward.
