

Chiang Rai Provincial Livestock granted food safety mark under "Livestock OK Project" to 19 shop owners under "CP Pork Shop" to ensure meat quality and food safety to consumers.
Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) initiated "CP Pork Shop" to distribute high quality meat with food safety standard to create alternative choice of consumer. The shop will also encourage people in community to have their own businesses to generate sustainable income.
Mr. Nopporn Mahagun-tha, head of Chiang Rai Provincial Livestock, said the government encourage faremers to produce agriculture goods under internaltional standards. The project "Livestock OK" is part of the government policy to certify food safety standard throughout food supply chain. The policy will ensure consumers tracability practices and standard particularly the Livestock Development Department, starting at farm, sluaugtherhouse, and selling point without growth hormone and beta-agonist which use in pig farm to get readder meat.
Chiang Rai Provincial Livestock had certified the "Livestock OK" mark to new 19 CP Pork Shop owners. Previously, there were 26 shops got the certifications. Those who were grant the quality mark will be model to other interesting guys.
Mr. Wirat Tunyoug, vice president of CPF, said the company has stepped forwarded through its vision "Kitchen of the World" which also in line with the government policy to upgrade farm quality and standard to achieve food safety as well as traceability goal. Moreover, it aims to increase distribution channels particularly in rural areas.
"CP Pork Shop is designed not only for small business owner but also to increase more selling points of quality meat to Thai peopl. It will also create stable income to people in the rural area," said Wirat.
