Increasing food demand as a result of global population growth has led to widening attention on responsible production standards throughout the agricultural and food supply chain. Consumers and civil society expect food companies to create innovation and technology to increase efficiency in a sustainable manner. Companies are also expected to be responsible for addressing human rights issues in their supply chain namely issues related to child labor, forced labor and migrant workers, as well as for managing environmental issues namely soil degradation, water scarcity, and forest encroachment, in the companies’ agricultural and food supply chain. However, in order to promote responsible production throughout the long and complicated agricultural and food supply chain, we need a shared commitment and collaborative networks to lead the supply chain towards concrete long-term positive changes.
Management Approach
Policy and Practice
We promote responsible and sustainable practices by disseminating our "Sustainable Sourcing Policy and Supplier Guiding Principle", to lay the strong foundation on the management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects throughout the business operations of the Company and our business partners, in line with the vision to become the “Kitchen of the World”.
Risk Assessment
We assess supply chain sustainability risks on an annual basis and encourage business partners to conduct supplier sustainability self-assessment.
Audit
We conduct audits on critical suppliers, and build capacity of critical suppliers so that they can grow responsibly. We ensure that the agricultural and food supply chain grows sustainably.
Capacity Building
We transfer and exchange knowledge and experience with our business partners while also promoting the optimization of tools, machines, equipment and technology based on sustainable development principles.
Monitoring and Review
